A peaceful oasis. Elegant and charming hotel, where you can be looked after by delightful staff. We visited for Sunday lunch on the terrace overlooking the gardens, a really first class interlude, and I now can't wait to stay.

This is a wonderful place - the hotel is gorgeous with beautiful views and relaxed, warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff have a `can do` approach and all were very helpful. The food is delicious and from breakfast to cream tea to dinners in the evening all was presented effortlessly from start to finish. The chef/s are great - dealing with extensive medical dietary needs with no trouble at all. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel.

A perfect boutique B&B. Hazel is an amazing host - warm, but discreet and helpful in every way. On arrival, we were served tea and very tasty cake in the beautiful sitting room which set a wonderful tone for the entire visit. Later, seeing we were tired after our journey, Hazel rustled up a delicious supper of local cheeses and pickles, and fruit, which we enjoyed outside in the delightful gardens. The garden and house are simply stunning. We were encouraged to enjoy both and feel at home, which we did right away. The vegetarian (at our request) cooked breakfast on our first morning was delicious, as was the continental we chose the next day. Hazel kindly served each of them early for us as we were attending an event. If you want a supremely comfortable stay in South Devon, we can’t recommend Higher Leigh House highly enough!

Very friendly staff. We stopped by for a bite to eat and a quick drink. The service was great and the food was lovely and not over priced. We'd stop a little longer and try a full meal (we each had a sandwich) the next time we happen to pass.

We took our sister in law and brither in law there for lunch today and were thrilled with the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. Thank you. We will return.

We had a pleasant lunch here. Crab pizza a big hit. Quite family friendly although there was no children's dessert menu and from upstairs it was a bit of a trek to the toilet with them.

Yummy pizza in a lovely place, Kingsbridge.. They serve lot of local dishes including crab dishes. It is a good thing to book before to make sure you get a table. Overall positive

The property we rented out was so nice that we went back two years later. Both bookings were handled efficiently and courteously. On the first occasion the property was spotless when we arrived. On the second it was not. There was some dust visible in a few places, and a lot of dust and hair under the sofa. Not as good as it could have been. The most recent booking was for a week in late July 2017. Within hours of leaving I had received a message that the cleaner had found a bag containing some expensive electrical items and a camera. It was indeed mine, and I was very pleased when they said that they would send it to me. They didn't. I rang them every few days asking for it back. After a while they told me to stop ringing them and they would ring me when it had been returned to them for them to forward it to me. They didn't. I rang a few more times. They prevaricated. Eventually they told me that since it was peak Summer season, they were too busy to send it back at the moment, and I would have to wait until after the peak season. When I queried it they really still had the bag, they said that they did, and it was quite safe. I came close to driving back to Devon from London to get it. But I waited until late September and - not having heard anything from them - I rang again. They said that they would send it once they had been to the post office to weigh it and package it. They didn't. I rang again. They said that they would send it. They didn't. Two weeks later, I rang again, and after a bit of telephone tag, they agreed that they would send it once I had paid them the costs of £35. I paid. FINALLY it arrived yesterday - nearly three months after I had left it. It is Great news that it was returned - but my view of their customer service is somewhat tarnished by this experience.

The second time we've stayed with Toad Hall Cottages and we're already planning next year's stay. The argument we're having is do we book up the same cottage as next year as it was perfect or do we explore the other fantastic holiday homes they have listed? The whole process of researching where to stay, to the information they have available to allow us to filter on our specific requirements, the dates available were spot on. The booking process was easy to understand and make our deposit. The information we received after booking, to make our final payment and to access the property was flawless. Holidays are meant to be enjoyed, not least the excitement before you actually leave - and Toad Hall Cottages fully understand that and as a result or holiday was fantastic. Thank you.

Come down every summer and it never fails to amaze. Yes there are a few problems but this is all part of the real country experience. The owners themselves are very welcoming and will deal with any problems asap. I love it here!

Thank you Ben and Alison, this was our first visit after a few years going else where --- sorry!!! We enjoyed a comfortable stay in "Holly" on this visit, a delightful cottage, everything that is required for self catering, excellent standard of equipment including the holiday cats; Kitty, Bear and Brook who will be missed, especially by husband😂. Seriously a great, reasonably priced home from home in the South Hams.

I have just spent four nights at this special B&B. Is it Kingsbridge's best kept secret? My room was large, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with views over the rolling hills. The full English breakfast was excellent with a large choice and everything cooked to order and served piping hot. There is parking, which is not available everywhere in Kingsbridge, and it is easy walking distance to the centre of the town. The new owners, Ed and Francesca, could not have been more kind and helpful. Excellent value for money and highly recommended.

Great quiet location, walking distance to a good variety of restaurants. Friendly hosts, comfortable characterful accommodation . Can pay by cash or bank transfer. Recommended!

Warm welcome comfortable rooms

One of the nicest B&Bs I’ve ever stayed in, the hosts are lovely and the breakfast is out of this world plus it’s cosy and spotlessly clean, its also in a lovely setting and the area is beautiful all warrants 5 stars for me can’t recommend highly enough, if I ever stay in the area this will be the only one I would use!

The best from this place is the staff, very friendly and helpful. I would happily stay here again.
